Today Adobe Acrobat DC was released. Acrobat DC comes in three variants: Reader, Standard and Pro. In addition to the perpetual license there is now also a subscription license (with additional features).
There is a 30-day trial version of Acrobat DC Pro for Mac and Windows available. Please pay attention to the system requirements (MacOS 10.9 or 10.10; Windows 7 or 8). ATTENTION: the trial version could de-install any existing older versions of Acrobat (including third-party plug-ins) on your computer! It’s a good idea to make a backup of the Plug-ins folder before the installation (on Windows in the Acrobat program filder; on the Mac inside the Program Package (open with right mouse click)). On the Mac it’s possible to re-install Acrobat X or XI or Acrobat 9 afterwards. On Windows Adobe does not recommend to install multiple versions on the same computer. Acrobat and Reader together are OK.
Of course there is also a new version of the free Reader. It’s called now Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. The same system requirements apply. With the help of (paid) online services called Adobe PDF Pack the features of the Reader can be enhanced.
There is a limited version of Adobe Acrobat DC for mobile devices like iOS, Android and Windows Phone (currently only Acrobat 10 version available). The iPad version has much more features than the versions for other platforms.
