Adobe has released the usual quartely updates of Acrobat:
Both versions features securtiy updates and bug fixes. In Acrobat 11 more bugs are fixed.
There are also new versions of Reader.
The new version contains new features and also many bug fixes. One new feature is the possibility to measure the effective total ink coverage in a cutom area and a check if a page has objects using transparency.
A long list of recently opend PDFs can be displayed a list or page thumbnails. Sorting by file name, file size and date is possible and can be predefined in the options menu (upper right).
I prefer the list view since it’s faster and one can see more files. By hovering the mouse over an entry a preview of the pages (you can click through the pages) is displayed!
In addition sharing the PDF documents used on the desktop with the Adobe Reader Mobile is very easy.
PDiff from CSCI performs a comparison of the texts of two (versions of) PDF documents. Version 1.7 has new features like comparing font styles, the creation of a redline report, combing of multiple documents, comparison with a text in the clipboard (e.g. from an email) as well as a statistic feature.
