Enfocus has made an official statement of its intentions and future development with regard to its Enfocus Connect product family (YOU, SEND, ALL).
The next release of Enfocus Connect will be in the first quarter of 2020 and will include the following enhancements:
- Support for the updated PitStop Library
- Compatibility with the latest operating systems
- Compatibility with the latest Adobe applications
- bug fixes
Connect SEND, which we used for the PDFX-ready Online Tools, will be discontinued at this point. Since a while the product is no longer listed on the Enfocus website. However, it is still available at Impressed.
Enfocus sees the future direction of Connect only towards in-plant printers, no longer towards print buyers who are submitting files. Connect will be positioned as a solution to deliver files correctly to an internal Switch server within the company network.
It is part of the Enfocus strategy that the print buyer would be removed from the file submission process. As such Enfocus no longer intends to develop software for the print buyer. Given this strategy, Enfocus also considers that the future of Connect will be towards integration in Switch. A lot of the Connect installs are already used in combination with Switch and it is used with the same functionality as a client application to submit jobs to Switch.
